2017 Lucidity Festival: Eudaimonia

The Pirate has spent the last decade tearing-up dancefloors all over the west coast and around the world. As a fixture of the bay area party scene and west coast festival circuit, he consistently brings a bass-heavy blend of crunked-up hip-hop, reggae, and world music, and can always get the party smiling. Along with Little John, he helps to orchestrate the flagship Raindance events, and runs a monthly party called Space Bass in the psychedelic haven of Santa Cruz.

SOOHAN takes us on a multi-faceted journey across the globe, pulling from the traditional music of various cultures and from the depths of our nostalgia. His unique sound sets him apart from many popular bass music acts, and has earned him a cult following across the US. In 2016, he played many of the festivals he had one day only dreamed of, and continued to go on his biggest fall tour ever. He returns to festival season in 2017 with a whole arsenal and a brand new album dropping just in time for Spring.

With a name like “Sex Pixels,” one would expect a loud, outrageous, over-the-top duo of hardcore partiers with zero regard for noise ordinances or genres. And on certain occasions your expectations would match reality. But more importantly, this duo of San Francisco based producers and DJ’s is known for composing lush and energetic live sets, regardless of venue. Bay Area natives, Tyler Tan (producing under the name Tyler Pixels on Perfect Driver Music) and Brendan Trudell, gained attention after winning the 2011 Lightning In A Bottle Festival Mix Competition, and since then, their acclaimed live sets have followed suit, dosing dance music enthusiasts with their signature "Sextronika" sound.
