Zephaniah McIntyre started playing jazz at the age of 9 years old. His first instrument was the alto saxophone. Studying great musicians like Charlie Parker and John Coltrane, he gained a strong ear for intoxicating melodies. At the age of 17, Zephaniah was lost in the darkness. Unsure of his purpose in life, he decided to pick up the guitar and learn how to use his voice as an instrument. His inspiration was drawn from his father Kenny and his older sisters Kaila and Tasia, who are all professional singers.
He started to write more mature music inspired by the likes of Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Earth Wind and Fire, and Bob Marley.
Zephaniah moved to Santa Barbara to study music at Santa Barbara City College. While studying the ancient art of music, Zephaniah met his wife Autumn Phillips, a Cirque Aerialist (Cirque De Soleil, Lucent Dossier...). Through their love and deep craving to help heal those around them, the duo organically started incorporating movement, dance, and story-telling into the live music concerts.
Zephaniah and The Rainbow Tribe is a live music and aerial dance experience based in Santa Barbara, California. Their mission is to inspire divine healing at the core of those who experience the show, and to warmly welcome all whom they meet to be initiated into The Rainbow Tribe as a peaceful warrior.
